We are notoriously known for venturing out into the unknown with an idea and a
paint brush held in our hand disguised as a pen bringing the picture to life with words.
Often music evokes a memory or emotion, taking you back to a place in time to relive
that special moment. It’s a true gift that takes an object or idea and looks at it from
every angle, exploring the story line of hook and embellishing it and letting it bloom into
the most beautiful and best it can be.
We are songwriters.
Some of us are quiet and some are the center of attention, but we all are creative spirits with a passion inside to
tell the story, dream the dream, remind you of hope, bring peace and share our heart
from the very depths of our souls to the crazy bus songs.
Music changes people. We craft it, mold it, say “what if it’s this”, slice, dice and sauté that hook sometimes giving
you a perspective that you’ve never thought of and spinning the point or reiterating the
hook with a phenomenal bridge. It’s an art and some of the greatest writers have spent
years perfecting their style until lyrics and music become their own language signed
somewhere in the song with their signature mark. A life filled with much pain has much
material to pull from to relate to their audience. Music moves people.
As our world changes, our new music changes. The messages we want to say have the power to
change the world, good and bad. With the weight of the pen, comes the weight of the
responsibility for what the lyrics become. As the writer writes, it’s their heart on paper
for someone to hear, and the world will respond. Music molds the world.
So, what are YOU telling them?
